1. Purpose
This policy applies to paid advertisements, sponsored placements, featured vendors, promoted marketplace content, category sponsorships, commercial demonstrations, giveaways, and other compensated exposure on Hobbow.
Hobbow is operated by Volunteer Technology Systems. Advertising must support rather than undermine the usefulness, safety, and trust of the hobby community.
2. Approval and availability
All advertisers and campaigns require approval. Submission, payment, or previous participation does not guarantee acceptance, placement, renewal, exclusivity, traffic, clicks, inquiries, or sales.
Hobbow may consider audience relevance, product quality, business reputation, landing-page quality, fulfillment practices, safety, legal risk, creative quality, and community impact.
3. Clear commercial disclosure
Paid material will be identified with clear language such as “Ad,” “Advertisement,” “Paid Advertisement,” “Sponsored,” or “Sponsored Advertising Content.”
Labels must be visible, understandable, and placed near the commercial content they describe. Advertisers may not disguise paid material as an independent member post, neutral review, ordinary search result, or unpaid community activity.
4. Creative and landing-page standards
- Advertising must be accurate, clear, and relevant to the selected audience.
- Images, prices, inventory, shipping statements, and descriptions must reflect the actual offer.
- Important limitations, recurring charges, eligibility rules, and shipping restrictions must be disclosed.
- Landing pages must function properly on modern mobile and desktop devices.
- Advertisers must have permission to use submitted trademarks, photographs, videos, endorsements, and other materials.
- Advertising must not imitate Hobbow controls, notifications, system messages, or member communications.
5. Prohibited advertising
Hobbow does not accept advertising that is illegal, deceptive, unsafe, discriminatory, exploitative, malicious, infringing, sexually explicit, or unrelated to a legitimate business, product, service, organization, or event.
Hobbow may reject counterfeit products, stolen goods, prohibited marketplace items, fraudulent claims, malware, invasive surveillance products, unauthorized replicas, or offers intended to collect credentials, payment codes, or unnecessary sensitive information.
6. Claims, endorsements, and reviews
Advertisers are responsible for substantiating objective claims before publication. Testimonials and endorsements must reflect honest experiences and disclose material relationships when required.
Advertisers may not fabricate reviews, suppress legitimate criticism, condition incentives on positive reviews, or present an employee, owner, affiliate, or compensated person as an independent customer.
7. Reporting and measurement
Hobbow may report impressions, clicks, link activity, inquiries, storefront visits, coupon activity, or other measured events.
Reports may contain attribution limitations, reporting delays, invalid-traffic adjustments, and reasonable measurement differences. Unless agreed in writing, Hobbow does not guarantee a specific number of impressions, clicks, leads, conversions, or sales.
8. Rejection, suspension, and removal
Volunteer Technology Systems may reject, pause, relabel, restrict, or remove advertising when reasonably necessary to enforce this policy, comply with law, address complaints, prevent harm, or preserve platform integrity.
