Hobbow Marketplace Rules

Effective July 20, 2026 · Version 2026-07-20

Operator Hobbow’s role Eligibility Seller rules Buyer rules Transactions External listings Enforcement Contact

1. Operator

Hobbow is operated by Volunteer Technology Systems, formed in Tennessee, with a mailing address at 3672 Sandy Shore Drive, Lenoir City, Tennessee 37772. Legal notices may be sent to russellbuchanan01@icloud.com.

2. Hobbow’s role

Hobbow provides technology that allows members to publish, discover, save, and discuss marketplace listings. During Phase 1, Hobbow does not process marketplace payments, hold funds, guarantee an item, guarantee a user’s identity, arrange delivery, or become the buyer or seller in a member transaction.

A transaction is directly between the buyer and seller. Each party must independently evaluate the item, counterparty, price, payment method, shipping, local pickup, legality, taxes, and risk.

3. Eligibility and accounts

A person must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering a binding agreement to sell or transact through the Marketplace. Account information must be accurate and must not impersonate another person or organization.

Volunteer Technology Systems may request identity, contact, banking, tax, inventory-source, or business information when reasonably necessary for safety, legal compliance, payment services, or high-volume seller verification.

4. Seller responsibilities

  • The seller must own the item or be authorized to sell it.
  • Titles, descriptions, photographs, condition, price, location, and delivery options must be accurate.
  • Known defects, modifications, missing components, safety issues, and material limitations must be disclosed.
  • Images must show the actual item unless clearly identified as a manufacturer reference image used with permission.
  • The seller must promptly update or remove unavailable items.
  • The seller must comply with applicable product, recall, licensing, shipping, consumer-protection, tax, and export laws.
  • The seller may not manipulate searches, feedback, pricing, favorites, or engagement.

5. Buyer responsibilities

  • Review the complete listing and ask questions before committing.
  • Use reasonable precautions when paying or meeting locally.
  • Do not send gift cards, credentials, verification codes, or unnecessary personal information.
  • Inspect local-pickup items before completing payment whenever practical.
  • Do not make false claims, payment reversals, threats, or fraudulent reports.

6. Transactions, shipping, returns, and taxes

During Phase 1, the parties determine payment, shipping, pickup, insurance, inspection, cancellation, and return terms. Those terms should be recorded in writing. Hobbow does not provide purchase protection for payments made outside a future Hobbow protected checkout.

Sellers are responsible for determining, collecting, reporting, and paying applicable taxes unless a future Hobbow payment service is legally required to perform a specific marketplace-tax function.

7. External marketplace listings and affiliate links

Hobbow may display inventory supplied by authorized third-party APIs or affiliate programs. External inventory will be labeled. Its availability, terms, returns, payments, fulfillment, and customer support are controlled by the external marketplace or seller. Volunteer Technology Systems may receive compensation when a user follows or purchases through an eligible affiliate link.

8. Safety and enforcement

Volunteer Technology Systems may review, restrict, remove, or preserve listings and account activity; request verification; limit communications; suspend marketplace access; cooperate with rights holders, payment providers, regulators, or law enforcement; and take other proportionate action to address suspected fraud, prohibited items, intellectual-property violations, unsafe conduct, legal requirements, or policy violations.

These rules do not require Hobbow to monitor every listing or independently verify every representation.

9. Reports and legal contact

Report suspicious marketplace activity, stolen goods, counterfeits, unsafe products, or policy violations to russellbuchanan01@icloud.com. Include the listing URL, reason for the report, and supporting details. Emergency situations should be reported to the appropriate emergency service or law-enforcement agency.

These operational rules are an original Hobbow draft and should receive review from a qualified Tennessee attorney before integrated marketplace payments are enabled.
